Controversial Criticism

Recently the sudden death of a well-known YouTube personality sparked some fascinating debates. Even in his death, he gets the people riled up. I wanted to wait a little while to speak on all of it. From what I can tell, emotions are still high, but here goes.

You all already know who I'm talking about, so I'm just going to use his initials, KS. I didn't know him personally, and I honestly didn't follow his work. I am, however, familiar with his delivery. Crass, to say the least. Still, he had a huge following who is yet fighting to honor his teachings. They insist that "all he wanted" was for men and women to come together and "be better." I can get behind that. My practice is built around single men and women becoming the best versions of themselves, so that they may find peace in their singleness, while simultaneously preparing for the love of their life. That being said, my approach is a little different.

To begin, I believe there's a tactful way of delivering honesty, opinion, and advice. Secondly, I don't speak for all women and what type of man they want. Some preferences may be universal, but I for sure can't tell a man that no woman is going to want him at negative 185lbs. (This is an inside joke for those who follow me on my personal social media profiles.) And trust me when I tell you that I have plenty of experiences to assist me in dragging men, but how does that help anyone? Me building a platform that speaks negatively of men with certain characteristics and qualities (or lack thereof) will do far less in helping individuals than me guiding them to do a self-evaluation to set healthy boundaries and standards for their lives. I want to create a sacred space where clients can come to me in truth, trust, and transparency. Tough love doesn't have to be insulting.

I'm going to leave it that for now. My intention is not to attack the deceased but to offer awareness of healthy forms of criticism. I'd also like to point out that there were a few clips of KS that I agreed with, but here's what I have to say about that. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
